So people, the weekend is here and no doubt you are all making the most of it as you should. But, if you are wondering whether you should have that extra biscuit/cookie/slice of cake, or if you’ve already had a glass of wine and you think you might have another, then this is the post is for you because it contains a pearl of wisdom from an Emerald Pie daughter.
This is yet another of those delightful little notes that I receive from time to time from my girls. This one is over a year old and was written to give me instructions for preparing a school lunch, but I have kept it because I love the innocent phonetic spelling. There are lots of occasions when this advice may come in handy, so pay attention now.
Of course, why should you listen to me, or DD for that matter? What do we know?
If you feel like having another, then do.
Because sometimes one is definitely not “a nuf”!!!

Timeless wisdom. Children and nature always mimic God. It pays to heed them both!
Ah, the wisdom of children!
Oh, I love this, Ellie!
Simple. And to the point. I think thats the best kind of advice, isnt it?
Absolutely! It’s kind of profound, really.
Some days I thought……I’ve just had enuf of my kids. little imps
But now that they are grown and gone, I realize I never had enuf.
Kids are like that aren’t they?! My two are visiting grandparents this weekend and I miss them.
HOw absolutely darling and true (both interpretations)! So happy we found you. Thanks much for coming by. Never met an Irish person we didn’t just love to bits! Loving the sprawling hills, blue sky and clouds in your pic too
Thanks! Glad to have you here. Not so much blue sky around today, but we’re hopeful!!
Such wisdom in one so young
Oh, how lovely! I don’t usually pack my kids lunch boxes but, when I do they have their input. My daughter loves PB&Js and wants it just so. Sometimes, the treats – carrots, or the apple come back uneaten, with the scraps of the bread crusts stuffed inside the plastic bag… she always explains she didn’t have time to eat them because she wanted to get out on the playground! If only I could follow your daughter’s wisdom – I often find tow isn’t enough!
I sometimes find two isn’t enough too!! I may need to print this advice out in poster size and hang it in my house!!
great fun – great advice – am going to take it
Great advice – though you’ll have to tell her that one hug I’d never a nuff.
So true. Especially when it comes from the author of such cute notes.
What a wonderful sentiment! I bet you will treasure that forever!
Definitely!
Cute! I may follow that advise myself, Ellie, occasionally!
This is my first time to this blog. I am printing that picture for my fridge. Looking forward to reading more of your posts.
Thank you for visiting!
Smart daughter you have Ellie! If we all exercised that type of control, where would we be today. Me? In the petite section. lol
And you wouldn’t be on your own there either!!
Simple, great, wisdom children…:)
Kids just get right to the point now don’t they?
That note is just awesome. Nuf said.
I love your daughter’s note. My son used to write little notes like that and I kept most of them. It’s amazing how kids can often see things so clearly, isn’t it?
Straight to the point and no messing around with a “How are you today?”. ;D
And she is sooo right! The second is never as good as the first. Whether it’s wine, chocolate, beer, cake … one is quite simply a delight and two never the same. She is wise beyond her years!
I lOVE this Ellie – and she is spot on! Kids notes just make me smile with their awful spelling. They light me up from within and I just cant stop beaming when I find some from my kids to me
xx
Thats for sure. Those notes are some of the best writing we will ever read!!
