Hey! I’m back in the blogging world at last after 12 days (yes 12 days!) of constant ‘after school’ and ‘during school’ activities. We have the busiest week done and now its back to the normal everyday stuff that we usually do. No rehearsals, shows or important sports games.
I was beginning to feel like I had time on my hands until my daughter reminded me that she volunteered both of us to climb a mountain this saturday with a team from her school. And I’m not joking! See that pointy bit of mountain in the photo. That’s what we are climbing. I’ll post about it next week if I survive!
But back to the present time, I’ve been so proud of my kids this last week. Yes, there were tears and tantrums, and I’m not proud to say some of them were mine. And we finished the week like total wrecks in dire need of quiet and downtime. But during our crazy time, my girls stunned me with musical brilliance at recitals, danced their hearts out on the stage of our local theatre for two nights running, did well at school and amazed me at the amount of knowledge and confidence they have. It was all worth it.
Next time though, when I know I have a busy time coming up, I will be more organised and have some blog posts written and ready to publish so I don’t leave such a gap between posts. And I will freeze a few extra dinners. See, I am learning!!
Now did someone mention a mountain?

glad you are back – missed you
Thank you. Glad to be back. Nobody told me blogging is addictive…
Yay!
Thats what I’ll say when I’ve climbed back down that mountain!
I’m excited for your Croagh Patrick climb – can’t wait to hear about it! I climbed it several years ago, and when I was getting tired I looked up ahead of me to see a 76 year old man climbing up, not even sweating. Nothing like a little humility to keep you going. Later I heard he lived in Newport and used to climb it daily.
It’s worth every muscle-ache when you get to the top! Have fun!
Thanks Lois. And did you see those people do it in their bare feet too? No way could I do that.
I know – me neither! Being from Mayo, you know about Matt Loughry, the guy who climbed Croagh Patrick 356 days (and sometimes more than once a day) last year to raise money for St. Vincent DePaul, right? I followed him during the 356 days on Facebook – his photographs are absolutely beautiful. I’d love to climb it just once again in my life.
Yes he was on the TV and radio stations here a lot. He did it in all weathers – and I think he had a few celebs join him on his last day. Brave man.
Looking forward to hearing about the climb. My kids have signed me up for many things, but never a mountain climb!
Never say never. I’ll just put my kids on the phone to yours….
I cracked up when I read this. “Oops, I forgot I need to climb a mountain this weekend.” That is awesome!! (and that looks like a really big mountain, so I will pray that you return to blog another day, and tell us all about it).
I did a big climb one time and got lapped. Some guy and his dog scampered by me on the way up, then when I was still on my way up, he went down AND UP again. I wanted to trip him and his little rabbit dog.
Oh I think I will be lapped too. Definitely not fit enough for this challenge so I will take it at my own pace, SLOW.
I can’t wait to hear about it.
Good luck!!
Ooh! Rather you than me with the mountain climbing! I don’t think I’m cut out for that kind of thing. But I can’t wait to read how you get on!
Tune in next week so. If I haven’t been airlifted off, I’ll have a post for you to read.
Yayyy Welcome back hun – you were missed!. I kept checking to see if my reader was playing up again! xx
I’d say your best bet is to volunteer to stay at the foot of the mountain and take photos. It is so important to take photos from that angle to measure Progress. You may want a bar of chocolate with you as measuring Progress can be tiring.
Good idea. Difficult to measure progress from the top so you’re right, I’ll stay at the bottom!!!
Thanks Sonia. Fault was all mine. Thanks for the welcome back!
I write on Mondays and Fridays – my time, unless I am inspired in between. I usually write two to three posts and love having that time to just enjoy my thoughts. During the week I sometimes put notes on my iPhone with inspirations or ideas! Enjoy that mountain! You can do it!!
I need to write more posts, well ‘finish’ more posts would be more appropriate. I have lots of half finished “bits” that need to be tidied up. I’m going to aim to be organised like you!
Ha, ha! I have some of those too (half baked high potential bu tincomplete) but it is a tough call. More posts or less but quality posts? Or somewhere in between………Anyways welcome back none the less.
Blogging is a learning experience in itself … and one of the lessons is also to take a break. PS: Thanks for visiting my little space in the world.
True, we all need a break now and again. But no more talk of breaks now till I get down from the mountain.
Best of luck on the pointy thing. I’m sure the pictures will be worth the wait!
I hope so!
Good luck, it looks awesome. Can’t wait to see photos from the top.
