Although today isn’t mothers day in Ireland, I’d like to wish a very Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers reading this post today. I really hope you are being spoiled, and that you are appreciated for all that you do.
I know there are many mothers out there who will be having less than perfect mothers day, and to you especially I wish the very best day you can have today.
To the mothers who are sitting back, enjoying their families and opening presents,
To the mothers who are parenting alone and are too busy to take the time right now to enjoy the day,
To the mothers who have gone to the ends of the earth and back again for their children,
To the mothers who may have fallen out with a son or daughter and are wishing things were different,
To the mothers who are caring for children with special needs or illness,
To the mothers who have seen their children grow up, leave home and forge their own lives,
To the mothers who have now become grandmothers and greatgrandmothers.
To the mothers who have lived though a son or daughter leaving this world before their time,
To the mothers who have lost their own mothers recently,
This day is for you.
Take 5 minutes today to have a cup of tea/coffee/whatever your tipple and raise a toast to mothers the world over.
We deserve it.

Thank you! This was lovely.
Thank you and the very same to you! Beautiful tribute to mothers everywhere.
Beautifully written – and if the truth be known, it is only other mothers who really understand. Even though you have no official Mother’s Day – Happy Day anyway–you made a lot of moms happy.
Our mothers day was over a month ago. I don’t know why we have a different date to everyone else…but that doesnt matter really I suppose. Important thing is we have one!
See, I am learning something new everyday–who said an old dog cannot learn new tricks?
You said exactly what has been on my heart today. I am sending mothers day prayers to all the mothers and children who are hurting today.
This is a beautiful post hun
I have just found out that NONE of my coments on Word Press Blogs have been working for the past month. I just wanted you to know that I have been visiting your gorgeous blog and commenting but they havent been working. I think I may have fixed the problem now … hopefully. I am so enjoying your blog xxx
Thanks Sonia. I found your previous comments – I’m getting better now at checking my spam filter.
Best of luck with your blog award nomination – hope you win that car!!!
Nice one! Mother’s Day in Spain is the first Sunday of May not the second. It’s funny how they change this days depending where you live. Have a nice week!
Hope you have a nice week too Silvia.
Beautiful!
I had certain blogging mums in mind when I wrote that post.
What a lovely wish, Ellie. Thank you – and a happy late Irish mothers day to you!
Thanks Lois!
Love this! Happy belated Mother’s Day to you! Also, that picture is gorgeous.
Thank you. The flower is from a Clematis Nelly Moser in my garden. It only ever has 2-3 flowers per year (I don’t think it likes it’s location). When the flowers first open they are really bright and bold, but as soon as the sun hits they fade rapidly. I love waiting for the flowers every year though.
A lovely, lovely tribute! A toast to you too
And I’m shaking a jar of rice to some motherly tune (thinking of that post still makes me smile!)
Shake it! Shake It!
Oh Ellie, this is soooo beautiful. It really touched my heart as several of these apply to me. Thank you so much.
Thanks again for subsribing to my blog and liking my post.
Blessings to you,
Alexandria
